Lol, I am in no way of being offended or do I feel insulted.

I just wanted to see what my tank could do to a car thats in its hp/trq class stock/stock.
The CLK was what I could afford at the time of purchase (6yrs ago).

If I wanted to destroy high powered cars in a race, I'll put my ride gear on and take out the bike (costs a fraction but will rip them a new hole everytime)....

2001 Mercedes Benz CLK 430 Coupe
I have to agree with a few points made on both sides here. The SRT-4 is a great low budget car with great potential. I have owned a few fox bodies and gotten spanked by one of these little sleepers. However, this CLK 430 I just got is no stoplight champ, but I will bet on the freeway or open road all that stoplight power and 1/2 mile times wont mean squat when your car stil pulls hard past 120, with class and style. Nuff said. Besides,I bet his GF would rather ride in a Benx than that neon. Any takers one that one?

Well it could be because I've personally met two people who have blown their engine, or maybe it's because I haven't seen one running in over five years, or it could be from my mechanic friends telling me about all the kids back in the day that would mod their srt4, blow it up then try to get it covered under warranty.

U are very much misinformed... the two ppl u met are should stay away from working on any cars period if they blew up an srt motor..the motor has handled at must as over 600whp on stock bottem end and many are well over 400whp. Dont judge the car or make comments based off the jackasses you know

I've got to agree here. The SRT4 has a very stout motor. You can find morons in any car segment who blow up their motors out of ignorance. I've seen plenty of these things over 400whp, and even as high as 900whp. They can take a lot of abuse. The for what they are, their biggest weakness isn't the strength of the motor, but the fact that they are fwd. Once they hook though, look out. It's not a car to take lightly.

You drive a neon so it's going to be hard for you to understand, but my point is that if I couldn't afford a new benz then I'd rather buy an old benz instead of a neon. Although, I would buy a neon if I was in the market to buy a car for a teenager.

Hahaha..u sound ignorant. So you would buy a much older benz because you feel ppl wil view you rather then have a newer faster and arguably more reliable, definitely more reliable when modded..ok good for you. Btw I dont drive a neon, I drive a C63 on a daily and track a M3... want me to keep going on my stable? Point is dont judge because i own a neon, just because a person has a certain vehicle dont assume he can't afford or doesn't know any better

I didn't say anything about how people are viewing me... I just hate driving cars that are cheaply made, hence my statement I rather drive a benz from the 80's then a neon implying that a benz from the 80's is still going to be higher quality then a new neon which feels like it's going to fall apart while driving it. You own a neon, but don't drive one? That makes sense. My original post wasn't directed towards judging you, I was only posting my opinion and then you replied and tried to make it personal. Obviously you are into cars that go fast, but are cheaply made. Nothing wrong with that, everyone has their own taste. Your C63 will smoke any of my cars, but I despise the C class due to the cheap feeling they have similar to what I'm talking about with a neon. I live in LA where it's impossible to go over 15mph on the freeways anyway so I have no interest in AMG models. I like luxurious cruisers that still have ***** for when acceleration is needed.

I'm sorry I have to say it but when we see Neon's acting all crazy down here, we point at it and laugh.

It's just the way it is these days.

More than 90% of the time, it will be some kid though. The car just has a bad reputation.

Well said. I've had an SRT4 and an AMG. The AMG by far was higher quality, but the SRT4 was by far the more fun car to drive. I wouldn't look down anyone driving those hopped up neons because I know what a hoot they are having.

You do your laughing and I'll continue to laugh at you and your fellow neon drivers... we're all having a good time except you're doing it in a POS and I'm doing it in luxury... have fun.
