I Got killed...
By a Honda Accord! Here's the story. On my way to my brothers hockey game (last Sunday) I was driving the E55. My mom was in the car as well. At the stop light a 95-98 Honda Accord pulls up beside me. In front of her, there were cars so she has to merge into my lane (like my other story but the cars were even closer). I wasn't thinking that she would come in my lane (I hate when people do that!) As soon as the light turns green, shes punches it. I only realize when she is 1 1/2 car lenghts ahead of me. I floor it as well but she manages to squeze by. I was in winter mode too! Oh well, sometimes your not paying attention. I actually had a glance at the Honda's tach. She was doing past 5000RPM while I did barely 3000RPM. Don't you guys just love those V-tech engine when revved really high!

An E55 next to a standard Honda Accord on a run would be an absolute joke.
However, do you know exactly what was under the hood? No.
Do you know if NOx was used? No.
Do you know the acceleration rate your car is capable of? Yes.
Obviously this wasn't a normal japanese eco-roundabaout, but a subtly modified rice-burner.
Instead of thinking "Wow, I got roasted by a normally aspirated I4," think "Wow, I wonder what's lurking under HER hood,..............Er,:o I mean what's lurking under the car's hood?

ok people, lets look at this situation logically - why stereotype japanese imports?
anyways, to clear things up a bit, there are two body styles of accords between the years of 95 and 98: the fifth and sixth generation accords - the sixth was introduced as a 98 model.
obviously, whether the accord was a four or six-banger from either body style, a stock E55 would indeed blow the doors off of those types of stock accords. as dslbnz stated, the accord probably has a lot of stuff to back it up. nevertheless, the amount of work and modifications needed to allow the accord to beat an E55 would be extensive...

Thanks Xpeed. As I said before, I posted just to tell you guys what happened. I was caught off guard and could have smoked the Honda Accord if I was paying attention. Does it matter who got killed? Am I not allowed to post if I was the one who got killed?

Hey MB AMG, I see Hondas, Toyotas, etc, get in front of all sorts of cars over here. In fact (my opinion ahead), in your particular situation, if you didn't punch it from the very start then you shouldn't've punched it at all; that might've cut her off right while she was trying to merge and lead to an accident.
Regardless, I don't feel quite so badly now, knowing that our 230k isn't the only car that'll get beaten by an Accord.

It sounds like you were just caught in a merge; she had a couple of advantages on you:
1) She was moving before you were
2) She didn't have Mom in the car
3) She's in a Civic, you're in a Mercedes. In the game of chicken that is lane merging, who do you think blinks first?
4) Don't ever accept a challenge from an Accord or a Civic. Damn rice rockets are always coming up next to my car and revving their engines like I'm going to unleash The Gas Guzzler on a car that would be challenged by a Smart.
Fewer stories about Civics...more stories about embarrassed M Power.

I'm so glad that some of you payed attention to my second post. AlpharettaC32 and jpb5151 were both right. I was caught up in a merge. That bloody Accord would of hit the car in front of her or even me! Some drivers just don't know what the heck their doing. If only I punched when the light turned green, then I would of smoked here.
