Tuned s55 vs Tuned Formula Ws6...Surprise

So I was on my way back to see the family (11 PM) and I came across a couple of yahoo's in a souped up 2000ish Ws6 formula. Both young and seemingly cocky as they sped up and cut me off when I got stuck behind some slower moving traffic. They sped up and did a fly by so as to keep me from getting over to the clear lane.

I'm sure I was just an old man in a boat to them. They were there to show me what a muscle car really looks like...HMMM

I decided to give them a little fly by myself when things cleared up just to set them straight as it were. I'm not overly familiar with these formula's but their's was exceptionally loud and in very nice shape. Anyway, when I flew past them I think I bruised their ego's.

They decided to catch up and taunt me with their "super car" revving, speeding up and slowing down. This noisy nonsense went on for a while as they really wanted to show me what was up.

I finally gave in...Here we went. No traffic for a good mile ahead, clean highway. I wasn't expecting much of a race as my "sleeper" is tuned, pullied and P&P heads. I'm running 570ish HP and 600ish Lbs/ft.

HONK HONK HONK. Damn that firebird was loud and fast??? 100mph one car lead, 120 1 1/2 car, 140 I probably only had about a 2 1/2ish car lead. Hit the breaks and we eventually got side to side again...To my surprise the driver actually rolled down his window and gave me the "Wayne's World" we're not worthy signal three or so times. Gracious losers in a car that I was shocked stayed up with me as well as it did. I'm assuming it was modified decently as my boat run's consistent low 12's.

What are everyone else's thoughts on their Bird?

They're cheap cars to make fast, although clean examples of those are hard to find now & if they are out there, they fetch a pretty penny. They have the smallest engine of the LSx series, but is still very potent. Tons of aftermarket support for those engines and is pretty reliable, I was very close to buying a LS1 swapped RX7 earlier this year.

I'm sure they thought they were going to smoke my doors off...I figured I'd pull a good 4-5 cars. I guess we were both surprised. I know they've done a bit of work with that engine because it pulled extremely hard for the engine that it has. Sounded like a beast but just not quite enough mods to take my old man car
