CLS55 vs Camaro ZL1
Captured this on my go pro camera. It was about 65 degrees out that day and my car was loving it. I recently upgraded the heat exchanger and pump and was testing it out when this guy wanted a race.
The ZL1 has 580 flywheel horspower and weighs about 4300lbs. I've never had mine dynoed yet, but it weighs almost exactly the same. In his case, I guess the driver really does matter.
On this particular run I went 12.158e/t at 118.5MPH.

^^^ Nice run. He may not have gotten the best launch. A quick search shows the ZL1 to be about a 12 flat quarter miler at best. I'm guessing you guys could run all day and the outcome would likely be based on who gets the best launch.
I'm curious, was the guy shocked at the power of the AMG? I used to go to a track in Indiana that was always American metal only. They were shocked to see my SL run low 12s and high 11s.

Wow! I used to be a little afraid of ZL1s on the street heh! But now that I see you only have cooling mods, and you still took him down, I feel a lot better!

ZL1 can be VERY fast for cheap. Just look at the CTS-Vs running LOW tens with about 6K into them. ZL1 weighs less and same power plant. So if you run into one with some mods you might be surprised.

2006 z06 720 crankhp 690 torque 3,000 lbs, naturally aspired 7 litre ls7... 10.6 at 135 mph with a bit of spin off the line.... 46,000 dollars 11,ooo miles..1.12 g force in turns....talk about a cheap supercar I got it

Good thing you had the foresight to put the camera facing backwards or we would have not know what you were racing.
On a serious note, I think those cheesey red headlight covers cost him a few tenths.
