Roll up to the light and he rolls up right beside me. We give each other a look and we both knew it was on. Light is about to change so I get ready and pop to my lowest gear atthe bottomof my shift gate. Switch the mode from E to S. I hear him idle it a bit higher getting ready for his launch, but before I could prepare for mine, the light went green and he got on it. I floored it from idle and watched him jog away ahead of me up to about 60 MPH where I than shifted up and his pull started to stop, but by that time we had already hit the next red lights.
I pull up to the left turning lane and we exchanged some words. I asked him if he was stock and he said he was chipped. He asked me and I told him my story that I had just got the car and that the timing was out and it has a few problems. He complimented me on my car. Nice guy.
I was quite impressed at how his pull stopped after I shifted up.
That happend about a month ago and now the timing is fixed and I had realized that I had started off in 2nd gear as well and that my car has some throttle issues where the throttle only opens 3rd of the way. I can't wait to get this beast running right.
Stock 99+ GT's run Mid-Low 14's.
