My latest kill

Last night I was coming back from a club and on 225 a guy on a pick up Chevy (late model) passes me fast, so I punch the gas and catch up, the guy was doing ~95, we slew down a little because radar went off for a sec to ~70 and then off we go, both of us punched it, he actually punched it first, that gave him about 1/2 a truck, I kept on going about 110 mph I'm passing him, I stayed on the pedal until my governor kicked in, by this time he was about 4 trucks behind; governor kicks in at 127 mph

We actually took the same exit and stopped at the light, we lowered our windows and this couple of young guys give me the thumbs up and were wondering if my truck was supercharged
, I told them no, just a few bolt ons, we hit it again at the green, by 60 mph they were about a truck behind me, and that was a V8 2002 single cab truck.
127, I would have been white knuckled at that point. That thing cannot be very stable at that speed. Tires get really hot from the massive weight of those trucks.
I had a Chevy late model '99 - '02 Z71 Xtd cab LT model race me once in one of my W126's(won't tell you which W126, because you wouldn't believe me anyway). He pulled even with me until about 50 mph. From then on I started walking away, faster and faster until I was ahead 6 car lengths at 90 mph and I decided to let off.
He kept on the throttle and passed me later at about 100 mph while giving me the finger. I waved back with a friendly sarcastic smile.
Man though, I LOVE the sound of that GM OHV pushrod V8 singing next to my door!:p
Somebody told me these trucks were governed at 100 mph or so. That means that all these SUV drivers from Massachusetts are bouncing off their limiters all day long!
Another regret for not pursuing a career in law enforcement.

BTW, you know what's really funny? Passing a Cummins diesel on the highway when they floor them(guys who try to not let you pass). You'd never even know they were trying unless you heard that loud obnoxious diesel clatter outside the car. Absolutely hilarious. When the Cummins is modified it is a beast, however.

As far as governors go, I remember the Crown Vic had a governor on the 4.6 that it could either be around 105 mph or 127 mph. Maybe Chevy had it too?

I thought Suburbans were governed to 95? The last one I was in was, and the speedo only read to 110 if I am not mistaken.

Originally governor was at 98 mph, but thanks to Hypertech I can not move it up to 127, make it shift harder, tweek the engine's performance and adjust for new tire size, which BTW my SUV has 17" yokohama 285' Z Rated, and 127 is safe for these tires.
Also, at 127 mph the truck feels very stable, no vibrations, stuck to the ground, it is so heavy but at the same time it feels safe even at that speed thru overpasses.

Poch, what year is your Suburban? The '97 model 4x4's are REAL animals. They have unrestricted Vortecs and haul like sports sedans!

My dad's mexican Gram Marquis is goverened at 114 mph or so, so I asume the crown vic is about the same.
Poch...where's your benz?
Sold it to give way for a car to my step daughter and because at the moment seemed to be a "smart" desicion.....I should've kept it.
