interesting race against IS300 n new Maxima

hi all, havent posted in a while but i figure i'd share with those who has been always curious how our rides stack against similar spec cars. after the pulley i've always wanted to see how my car do against an IS300. I finally found a friend of mine who has an early model IS300 auto stock. we raced from rolling start about 20+mph and were even all the way to about 100mph. THe outside temp was about 60F nice and damp air.
THen the other nite i was coming back home i ran into one of those new Maxima's (the latest revision). Now I know these things have a monster v6 so i didnt expect much. we went at it again from about rolling start 10+mph to about 80mph (traffic ahead). I had traction problems in 1st but afterward i found out i was gaining very slowy on the Maxima. So we finally get to a light, i was greedy so again from 1st some traction probs but after my tires hook up it was over (we went to about 110mph) i had a car length on him. I can barely believe it! Before anyone start flaming about unsafe driving this was out at a remote location at a country road. THe race with Maxima was after a lite rain so road was a tad damp......oh and i need new tires

Cool! I bet the Maxima had traction problems as well. FWD 250 lb-ft or something?

Nice kill..... but it's hard for me to believe you beat a Maxima (I assume 6th generation as you said the latest version - 2004+?). I own a 4th generation Maxima (a lot weaker than 6th generation but a lot lighter as well)...... always won against C230K, Accord (haven't tried the 2003+), Camry, BMW 323 & 325, Audi A4...

Probably, it was just b/c you have more skills.... c'mon..... after rain, country road....... and errr.... how old are you? Must be pretty young :p

i'm a young enough but i really think it was the other driver. I wouldnt have even raced him if he werent cutting in n out of lanes (that annoys me) and he definitely was racing. 1st race i had major traction problems but i didnt hear his tires squealing or slipping at all...both times....maybe the 6th gen maxima automatic has all time traction control that cant be turned off? My 99 a4 had the same problem and was annoying.
