Killed a Ford Ranger
There was a brand new Ford Ranger short bed pick up trying to race a BMW behind me in traffic and came upon me at a stop light. I was first in the left lane as the Ranger pulled up next to me in the right lane. As the light turned green, the Ranger started to get on it - so I stomped on it thru 1st & 2nd to about 80 MPH. I was surprised how the ranger kept up pretty good. Opened up the Ford site to see what the motor options were for a Ford Ranger were and found that a 2.3, 4 cylinder turbo is available and there appears to be nothing else. This of course was on the 2020 year models. I did find that the a 2.7 Eco boost twin turbo that is slated for the Ranger and maybe this was a new 2021 year model? The plates were paper (brand new).
Anyway, I was impressed with whatever engine the Ranger had. Watch out.

Funny enough around the same time this was posted, a brand new Ford Ranger tried me multiple times in my 2007 E550. I will admit, he was quicker than I thought he would be, but still no much for my (at the time) 14 year old V8 luxury barge

Wow, that sounds like quite the unexpected race! It's amazing how modern engines can deliver impressive performance. I'm curious to know more about the Ford Ranger's motor options and what the 2.7 Eco boost twin turbo has in store. To delve deeper into this story, I'll definitely 'continue reading'.
