C32 v. 350z

I know its a simple run, but finally found someone that wanted to race and had to take advantage of that fact. Getting onto the freeway he passed someone else so I passed him in a separate lane... pulled pretty hard on him. Not sure what the stats of our respective cars are, but it was a pretty simple win.

His car was brand, spankin' new and didn't even have plates on it yet. I think he was pissed because he tried to stay on me and tried to get around me on the freeway a couple of times, but couldn't.

I got a call so I slowed down and he passed. Then he made some crazy moves to get ahead of a few more cars on the freeway. I eventually got off my call, caught up with him and smoked him again.

Although I kinda felt sorry for the guy, it was certainly fun to pull away from the 350z so easily! I highly doubt it was turbocharged or otherwise force-fed. Now if I could just find something with a little more juice to run...

Nice Kill; oops, I mean nice story, since a C32 should kill anything in the NissanUSA lineup

350Z 6spd = 0-60 in 5.8s
C32 AMG = 0-60 in 4.9s

350Z 6spd = 1/4 mile in 14.5s
C32 AMG = 1/4 mile in 13.6s

These two cars are very different, and there is a reason why your vehicle is $20K more. It's damn near impossible for you to have lost this race. By simply flooring it and staying in your lane, you would easily beat him. Why is this a nice kill?

I guess it's all in what u define as a "kill"

Exactly. I could go out right now and beat a Ford Taurus while driving a Dodge Viper... doesn't make it a "nice kill". Just like it's damn near impossible for an AMG to lose to a 350Z, it's damn near impossible for a Viper to lose to a Taurus.

You drive a C32 AMG? Bet your entire life savings on it, and borrow everything that you can on top of that. Unless you seriously **** up (which is damn near impossible in your slushbox), you'll easily win.

in a straight line, yes

there are factors to be accounted for when racing on the road, driver, traffic conditions etc etc

can't just make judgements on who'll win by looking at numbers, real life experiences are better indications.

Dink, in his C32, lost to an apparently-stock G35 in a short rolling race (from 20-50 MPH, if I remember correctly). Isn't the G35 even slower than the 350Z?

Also, isn't it true that some C32 owners have reported running best quarter mile times in the low 14 second range? Haven't some Z owners reported quarter times in the same range (or better)? If these C32s and Zs ran side-by-side, would the race not be close?

My point is that Goliath can be slayed by David, given the right circumstances.

For a C32, a 350z is a nice kill. I think that you CLK320 owners are just jealous because your definition of a "good kill" is granny's Avalon.

Taurus vs. Viper is not the same as C32 vs 350Z. Nice try, though. Give the guy credit, as he is certainly enjoying his AMG!

I exaggerated the comparison to make a point... but you knew that.

I should give someone credit for enjoying his car? It's great that he loves his AMG, but i'm not impressed when an uber-performance $55k slushbox beats a $35k 6spd. If he had simply floored it and stayed in his lane (which may be what he actually did), he could have easily won.

Of course I knew that... and that's my point - the analogy didn't work.

Yes, you should give him credit for even owning one, since this is an MB enthusiasts site. Also, using your logic, a guy with an SLR shouldn't be allowed to hardly any of his conquests over lesser vehicles.

Simply put - the guy is having fun, so let him have it. You don't need to beat him down just because he posted a "kill" over a cheaper and slower car. I've read worse on this board...

It works just fine. The Viper cannot lose against the Taurus, and the C32 cannot lose against the 350Z.

That is correct. If a guy in an SLR makes a post about beating a C32 AMG in a race, I should expect more "no ****" posts, than "good kill... it's impressive that your $350K uber sports car could beat a $55k one".

I agree. It's fun to read so let's keep the stories coming. At least the kill has more relevance to this forum than that stupid logo of what, the **** in that crappy car hopping up and down.

Most people love that image, and it's a signature... it's not meant to have any relevance other than putting a smile on the faces of people with a sense of humor.

Humor? What humor? I am sure that the Jews on this forum just can't contain their laughter thinking about how the a-hole in the front seat (Adolf, not Talos) is prominently displaying the symbol so intimately linked with the extermination of 6 million of their parents and grandparents.

If this is funny to you, I suggest that you shave your head and acknowledge who you really are.

He's in a low-rider... Such a serious individual so obsessed with looking and acting professional and proper is in a low-rider. You clearly lack a sense of humor, as numerous members have expressed that they find this to be extremely humerous.

Do your numerous friends who find this to be "humerous" (try a "dik-shen-ary") all happen to have shaved heads?

I do not see the humor either. At best, it's an oversized childish annoyance wasting space on my screen, at worst, a disrespectful display of your complete ignorance in history.

Hitler is not known as someone obsessed with looking and acting professional, he is know as a mass murderer guilty of a genocide killing millions of innocent lives.

I have seen far more tasteful signatures than yours.
