C32 Stage 1.5 vs. E46 M3

Coming home from dinner, and what do I see? A nice M3 for dessert!

Ran him three times. Twice on the freeway, and once from a stoplight (I purposely missed my turnoff and followed him to harass him some more).

The first freeway race was sort of close (for about 4 seconds). We started the race right at what is, IMO, the soft spot of the C32 drivetrain. . . a 60 MPH roll (the very low end of 3rd gear). Anyways, I gave him the jump. By 70, we were dead even, with the C32 beginning to pull hard as it approached the meat and potatoes of the powerband. By the time the C32 shifted into 4th, I had him by roughly two cars.

Race two, this time I picked the start speed. . . 50 MPH. C32 dropped into 2nd, and "hasta la vista, baby!"

Third race, from a stoplight. By the end of second gear (roughly 65 MPH), I had him by two cars.

We stopped and chatted for a minute. He (probably 18-years-old) obviously was not much of a car buff, as he asked me if my car has a supercharger.

I told him that it used to, but that I took it out.

Yeah, that is why you beat him so bad, your car is lighter now, lol.

Ran into an M3 on the highway last week with a couple of teens in the car. It seems like the only people who drive the E46 are teenie boppers. We didn't get to do much since it was rush hour on the highway.
