03 C32 Vs E46 M3

Finally got to run a E46 M3 on the highway today, and really liked the results. I'd say we were going 65 or so when we got on it, he got into it first, I followed with my foot to the floor, slowly reeling him in and finally passing him by a good carlength before shutting it down.

He then passed by still in the gas and turned on his blinkers, not sure if he was saying he won, or just saying good race.

I did roll up next to him where we both exchanged thumbs up though. Good race, really starting to like the power of the C32. Pleased with the results.

he probably thought he won, but if he thinks about it a little more im sure he will realize you let off, unless hes extremely dumb!

but its ok, he'll get a nice surprise if he ever races another C32

in other news, raced a B6 S4 today on a roll and then from a stop. killed it pretty bad from a roll, from 0 i was out by 1 car by 50.

after we exchanged thumbs and good race, he said..
"wut is that thing??!"
me- "C32"
"h0ly shiet!"

man... how could you buy an S4 without knowing what a C32 is!?!
could the C32 be even less known than S4!?

Well I let off the gas almost completely, so yeah he should know. Also, it took a while to get him to bite.. He wouldn't go for a while.. But he was cool afterwards, I am just happy with how things turned out, can't really find many cars to run around here.

I also love the sleeper factor we have with the C32, I fly past cops and don't even get a second look.

Nice, though I'm suprised the M3 wasn't able to stay out in the lead. I wonder if the guy wasn't running his engine to redline, which you have to in order to get all the power out of it.

It appeared as if though he had 3, possibly 4 people total in the car. I had a girl with me (she's light), may have had something to do with it if he had 3 or 4 people in the car.

Yes, the extra weight (probably 200-300 lbs. more in the M3) would have a significant impact on the race. It sounds like you pulled him pretty hard, though, so you likely would still have won with equal passenger weight. The usual C32/E46 freeway race favors the C32, but not by much. Throw a couple of Gs of mods in, and the C32 will walk away.

Just got the car programmed today, and will have the pulley kit going on in a week or two. Hope I see some good improvements, will be posting up dyno runs soon.

E46 M3 with 4 people on board really is not all that fast. Since the car already does not have much torque, it seems to have a big impact in my experience (4 guys, im only 60kgs but the others were NOT!).

The M3 does not really feel fast at all with 4 people - Still sounds nice and all but yeah.

Sounds like a nice (comprehensive) kill though!

don't matter. I've had the same result with one w/ SMG and both of us had no passenger. 70-125mph roll, had 2 1/2 cars on him at least by the time I lift.

I do think I would have pulled him given only driver in each car by how hard I pulled after he got the jump on me, which was my hood a little behind his rear bumper, and pulled out in front of him after reeling him in.

Hope to find another M3 to run sometime soon. Just got my car chipped, and pulley's should be installed soon. I'm just wondering what the results will be.

Good kill Mike!

Can't wait to get your feed back after your mods are complete! So do you have them in now? Any good runs yet?

Just out of couriosity, are you really saying that the normal outcome between a C32 and a E46 M3 is that the C32 will winn win a straight line run?

YES. couple of my friends have the e46 M3s (SMG and 6spd) and we've ran for fun, and the outcome was always me in the front by 1-2 car by 120mph. I've run against other M3 on the freeway too, same outcome.
