I can attest to that. Rolling into the throttle is the only way to make a quick getaway.

yea well stomping on the pedal wont get you wanywhere but in a cloud of smoke, but nice smooth use of gas and patience will net you a nice launch, and you should be able to stay neck and neck with a launched AWD car and then pull away. If E55 had a LSD it be much better.

exactly, just hitting the "loud pedal and letting the stall converter" do the rest... i really don't know what he is talking about.

Also, a LSD isn't going to help much if you're already spinning both tires. On smooth even surfaces, I don't really have a problem with the tires getting grossly out of sync and ESP shutting off my fun. However, it would be just the ticket for the few times I've had ESP trigger massive wheelhop after the tires were already spinning.

the sl55 also has axlehop issues at times, more so than the e55k.

Didn't know that. I've had a couple E55K owners PM me about it, and I think it's the same issue for all. As long as the tires don't run accross something that gets them too far apart speed wise, ESP is happy with them spinning. Otherwise, just a blip from the light and things start bouncing around.

a LSD will help you get a better start, but sounds like your just suffering from severe traction issues. You need DRs, or Slicks. Hell well Lexani hit it he spun but still accelerated like you wouldnt believe. Id have no problem in belieiving he could beat an AWD car to the 60'.

i think it must depend on ambient conditions? thats the only variable that i can think of that would be as erratic as you are talking about. you are right, sometimes its fine, other times, the axlehop is ridiculous.

It is pretty bad, and I had all kinds of helpful suggestions that my shocks or springs are bad, etc. However, what I think I and a few other E55K owners have figured out, is that ESP actually triggers the hop. As long as I'm on smooth equal traction surfaces it seems to be OK. It's when you cross a bump/dip or hit any different surface that causes one tire to grab or slip more, that I've seen the ESP light flicker. If that happens for even a split second, the hop starts and I've had to get out of it at least twice (the hop was baaaaadddd). I don't make a habit of burnouts, but in those conditions a LSD would probably help. Other times with both tires spinning equally, a LSD would be no help at all. Even with slicks, I don't see our cars coming out of the hole like a 4wd Carrera.

He might not've, but I have. And I KNOW my car is faster, you keeping spinning around with all that crap you're talking about-- but since I've personaly expeirenced beating one, you might as well talk to a brick. No disrespect intended, but you're "facts" CAN'T and WONT change my expeirence. If he would have been ahead of me, I would have been on you're side, but truth is, he was behind-- which means, I beat him. Wheelspin or not, I did.

I think so, but thanks again. Yours as well, I don't think I'm ready to tangle with a Turbo. I agree on "magazine racers", no offence or reference to anyone in particular. There's always something faster, even if it isn't always supposed to be.

Thanks. But anyways, I think you can hang with me. Wern't you at the most recent meet? The one with the Kleeman E55? I think that was you, you said you got stuck in traffic or something, right? If that is you, well... I think you have a solid chance against me. You do have more power. I think, I dont know, Im confused, can you clarify this for me? Was that you?

You might be thinking about James. I think he has a LOT of Kleemann mods. My '02 is SC, but otherwise stock, only 422 RWHP.

in the 60' foot man, remember that. after that, your modified sl will take it, if it is stock. modified 996tt, well i would put my money on that.

i have driven the 996tt and the e55k, on the same day even. like i said, there is no way the e55k can get enough traction to get outa the hole as well as the 996tt. thats the whole point of awd, MORE TRACTION!

my "facts" are my experiences so i dont know what to tell you.

i have experienced axle hop on cars equipped with airmatic, abc, and shocks and springs, so i dont think it is that. i believe that esp cuts in and thats what upsets the chassis. once that happens, its all over from there until you back off.

Yeah, about the same power as a stock W211. Good thing is 300-400 lbs less weight, but I doubt I'm in your league. I was really late, 2 different wrecks to get through on the 101 headed south, and locked in a C6!!!???? Now that is a dumbass design!
