ML320 problems and questions
I have a 2001 ml320. first the rear windshield sprayer does not work. i checked to see if the nozzle was jammed it wasnt. anything else i should check for? also out of nowhere, the gas gauge works intermittently. i mean i fill up about every 3 days and im good to go but sometimes it shows empty when its full. i hate this. now the backlight behind the odometer is out. even during the day you cannot see it. the numbers do not light up at all. im at a loss for this ML and i just bought it out from benz(it was on a lease) its got 80k on it. thanks guys for helping out a newb.

Cant help you with the rear windshield washer but have some experience with other problems. The odometer bulb needs to be replaced, this is something you can do yourself even if you dont have a replacement bulb (you can swap one with one of the warning lights until you get a replacement bulb). Do a search on this forum and you will find a thread that details how to change dash lights.
For the fuel gauge, you need to have a sensor replaced, I had the same problem, cost me about $100 at the stealer.

ok i called about the fuel gauge, they said it was computer 800 bucks. i was like peace. ill change the lights myself. one of the sides of the dash is out so ill have to get it out. anyway know what type of bulb it is?
oh yea one more cant figure out how to reprogram key. the battery died i replaced and it still doesnt work. i reprogrammed last time this happened and it worked. i htink it was like turn key push unlock and something else. anyone know?

Hey, the rear wiper, make sure the pump is working 1st, you can remove that rear jet or nozzle, sometimes it does snap off. If all is working and is clear, not jammed you might need to replace the rear wiper assembly. the tube for the nozzle is inside the wiper motor which is a pain in the *** to remove. so in most cases i replace the wiper motor. The bulb in the clsuter, real easy to replace, but i would replace all the bulbs speedo, tach gas etc.... in my experience i would put one in and the rest would go out. benz and there bulbs ggggrrrrr. The gas gauge most likely you need a fuel pump/level sender.

earlier ML's had problems with the fuel sender unit not reporting the correct amount of gas. That could be your issue with the gas gauge not reporting the amount of gas.
but there were a few problems i recall with the cluster itself too...ours being one of them but it's intermttent and will report empty for a day or two then fix itself. was quoted $500 for a new cluster.
