have a question ... does all 2002 ML320 come standard with navigation?
does it mean that if a vehicle have the 'MCS', means it has navigation?

No and No. it's an option. The ML500 comes with NAV standard (maybe the Special Edition 350 does also, I don't know). MCS is just the base module that holds the radio and NAV units. There's more but I won't go into it unless you really need more info.

Im quite close to purchasing a 2002 ML320 ... with 30k miles. not for me, but for my sister. Would I be better off if I buy an extended warranty?

Just want to make sure so my sister gets a nice, clean car with minimal problems.

You can purchase the complete nav unit and install it in the MCS. You can get the CD type that was std in 02 or you can get the DVD type that is a later version. New ones come with the DVD disc (or CD for your area). These can be purchased from a dealer or you can take your chances with a used one from, say. EBay. Some guys have installed themselves others have had dealer install.
