Dome light and visor bulb replacement

Ok so on my 2002 ML500 that I bought today - I have a couple of questions
No more warranty so I have to fix these things

1. The driver's side dome light - is it difficult to replace the bulb and can I find one at an autoparts store?

2. Both visor vanity lights do not illuminate - any thoughts here?

Other than that - the car seems solid

Thanks

Try the sylvania website to get part numbers using the lamp replacement guide and then checkout www.autolumination.com You could even go LEDs.

I would NOT use leds here as the previous poster suggested. They do not give off light for reading, etc. Good for tail lights etc but thats it. I would also go to a dealer to get the dome bulb as it should match the other side for brightness, color, etc. Re the visor lights could be bulbs, switches in the visor. Hard to say without wringing it out. Believe that they only come on with the lights on, did you have them on??

I agree with sosh on the leds inside the car. (My hubby posted the last bit about leds...)but sosh is RIGHT- they are terrible for reading or even trying to find anything in the car - they just don't give off enough light.

Re the visor lights, correction. Mine work even with the headlights in the off position.

The visor lights on the ML only work with the key in the on position.

The visor's have to be pushed all the way on the rod that holds it to the ceiling. For example if you are in the drivers seat and you fold down the visor and then pull it to the right, toward the rear view mirror, the light will go off. It has a metal contact at the locking part on the right side, so if you move it to far one way or the other it will quit working. If all of this dont work it is either a visor screw is thew the wire or a wire is not connected in the headliner. Autogunner.
