ML 500 died, Road service rescued

After arriving at my office today I had to run an errand. Got into the ML turned the key and nothing, zip. No interior lights, speedo lights clock or anything. Called my dealer and they sent Road Service which arrived in 20 min. Checked battery, found 1.8 volts, replaced battery, resynched everything and I was on my way. Did not call MB as they would have sent a dealer thats a mile away and I will not deal with them. By the way, Teleaid did not work either. Great service even though the battery had been replaced 8 mos before in a B service as it had failed the load test.

1.8V!!! What, you sure you weren't using your battery to light up that big party at yur house last night??? Acually, that's not too unusual - batteries, despite our best effort, arer still not that well understod!!! Minor inconvenience though and glad to hear roadside was quick to respond. Sosh, I go in next week for the SOS thing. They'll have to replace the GPS antennae and I hope they do a good job since they'll have to take out trim pieces. I'm even wondering if I should just wait and see.

Yea, 1.8 volts indicates to me that the battery came apart internally or a major short developed. It happened very suddenly as it started fine this am and only sat for about 15 min before I tried to use it again. Good luck with the SOS repair. You should not have any problems re removing and replacing the trim
