ALL MERCEDES-BENZ CENTERS
SUBJECT: MODELS 163, 202, 208 210 WITH ENGINES 112,
MODELS 129, 163, 202, 208 210 215, 220 WITH ENGINES 113,
MODEL YEARS 1998 – 2000;
MODEL 170 WITH ENGINE 112, MODEL YEAR 2001
INSPECT, IF NECESSARY REPLACE HARMONIC BALANCER PULLEY
(Replaced if #112 035 00 00 or 112 035 06 00).
Check yours now (remove plastic engine cover and crank engine until the balancer stops where you can read the part number on top. These cause thousands in damage when the go, and can be a safety issue (though this is not a recall). I just checked the one on my '98 and it is the first number. My SA says he will check stock on the new part and get me in if they have it.
