Removale of stock sub in 05 ml350

I was wondering if anyone knows how to take the stock sub out from under the driver seat of an 05 ml350? If i do take it out, will it affect the sound system?

loosen and remove the 4 bolts holding the seat. tilt the seat back and remove the 4 10mm bolts holding the sub to the floor. Why would you want to remove it?

I have a JL 12W7 in my car. I just got out of my 03' ML350 and transfered the W7 into my new ML. I was talking to one of the JL installers and they suggested that I take the stock sub out to achieve the optimum sound. Also, when I take the stock sub out and disconnect it, will that affect anything, or will everything be fine?

this will effect the sound... it will disable some of your mids but eliminate the bass... since you are replacing it with another sub you should be all set... I know you had this set up in a previous ML but I would suggest you may want to look in to changing out the stock speakers with something a little more powerful... UNLESS you like bass and no words in your music!!!

Check out my sounddomain site for some examples

I have already switched the factory bose mid speakers and the tweeters with JL ZR series. The sound quality with the ZR series and 12w7 combined, with ambience or standard mode on, is an experience.

I am as well, luckily I am done with the system in the ML, costs too damn much to keep upgrading. The supra has mainly Rockford and the rockford family(MB quart) for speakers amps and subs... I have to say they are a little more durable as they take a BEATING as far as set up, heat and weather conditions the Supra sees
