hi,
went up to niagara falls for 4 days, so i did not drive the vehicle for 4 days. It rained in the northeast like cats and dogs while i was gone,.. but up there.. beautiful. anyway, came home and
tried to open the doors with the remote and NOTHING!
what...
BTW this 00 only has 9000 miles on it.
so the only thing i can tell is it sat for 4 days without being touched, and the battery died! Mercedes came out and put in brand spanking new battery...
the tech said he sees this all the time.
he also mentioned the rear passenger window being another
problem (which i have not seen.. hope i never do)
so has anyone seen this, the battery dies after a period of non-use?
thanx three56a

Me too...
My battery failed open circuit totally without warning at 28,000 miles, leaving my wife stranded in a none too good area. Called main dealer for help - they did not reply to voice mail. Called out roadside assistance - battery replaced about 3 hours later.
Funny thing is at the weekend we saw another ML having its battery replaced while we were down at the stores.....
Made sure when we had our battery replaced it was with a genuine German made unit.

ML430 (used to, now X5 4.4.i)
I've seen this twice on the Jeep that preceded my ML. Once the original battery when it was 18 months old and the replacement lasted only 12 months. The next one held up for 4 years without any problem. The first time was right after a three week absence in which I had not used the car.
I also read in many long term tests from magazines about batteries expiring within 12 months. So, I guess this is not unusual.

same problem
I have the 2001. We went away for 2 weeks and exactly the same problem. MB jumped the car. What we found is the auto inside lights drian the battery. Trun the switch off on the upper console when you dont use the car for 2 days and you will never have this problem again.
