00 ML430 changing plugs at 59K

Hello,

I have a 00 ML 430 with 59K. This car appears to not have a lot of pick up for 8 cylinder with 268 HP. I am thinking that I may need to replace the spark plugs. I have replaced the MAF sensor due to my CEL coming on.
What do you think?

If the engine isn't miss-firing.....

then I doubt changing the plugs will help much - if at all.
Remember this is 5000lb SUV and even with the V8 it isn't going to be a rocketship ;-)

It could be that you have clogged cats or more likely you need to re-train the tranny by engaging in a few kick-down sessions and red line up shifts.

This latter approach will likely awaken the V8 beast that lurks within the ML but at a cost of gas $$$
