stolen from me by the stealership ~~
I've just picked up my ML430 from the Flecher Jones stealership for the 4 brakes replacement (rotors & brakes). And they charged me 1223.00USD, I feel ripped off by a bundle. They even lost my wheel lock for my custom wheels which I'm very upset about. Sorry I have no where to vent but here, and I hope my bad experience can give a head-up for someone who is going to have similar situation as me.
Don't get me wrong here, the service is great at this stealership despite the price you're paying for it. But for dealership like Fletcher Jones to lose my wheel lock was not expected !!!!!!!!!
All I can say is...i had a bad day....
plus, brake job could have been done for half the price at an independent shop.
I wouldn't want to just come here and talk about this if i didn't ask the dealer first. Also I didn't know any independant shop plus the truck really needs to get the brakes done.
First, the price on the job isn't too bad considering it's at a dealer. I've got an E and was quoted $975 to do front and rear pads and rear rotors (only) and my parts are a little cheaper than yours.
However, the lock thing is ridiculous; even crummy gas stations don't lose those, much less a MB dealer. I'm also assuming you mean they lost your KEY, which means you can't even remove your wheels if you have a flat, etc. For this they are responsible whether they want to argue otherwise or not. Tell them you need to know who receives "service of process" for them because you're going to file a lawsuit against them in small claims court not only for the cost of new locks but also the cost of having the old ones removed (which could be expensive if you don't have the key). Bums.
I'd also report them to MB directly.I do hope they did a quality job otherwise. BTW, now that I think about it if you haven't already, try checking your tool kit and jack area, I've seen service folks throw wheel lock keys in there, too.
Good luck and enjoy the ride,

Greg
