Bad BAS/ ESP Yellow warning light.

Bad BAS/ ESP Yellow warning light.
The 2 warning lights BAD BAS, and ESP have turned on today 3 times. I had to restart the car to get rid of the problem. I have no idea whats going on... Any ideas how bad is it, or what is happening?

I'll be curious to see this answer, too. That has happened to our '01 ML430 twice in the last 8 months. Never did it more than once at a time, though. Just went away after restart.

It could me 1 of several things. most common is a bad brake light switch, it could also be a laterial accel sensor, yaw rate sensor, steering angle sensor, abs pump or control unit. you need to have the DTCs checked to find the affected circuit
