04 ml350 adding a navigation system
I have a 2004 ml350 with the factory radio with the 6 disk cd player installed in the passanger side rear compartment. I would like to add the navigation system to my existing sterio system but need some help in finding out what is involved in doing the change. Any one have any ideas. thanks.

My dealer quoted me a little under $2k for the Nav install, but it was DVD based not CD. I believe all you have to do is remove the MCS and install the Nav drive and maybe the antenna. The ML's were pre wired for this kind of stuff.

Look for deals on ebay, they go for much cheaper than the dealers. Installation is easy and you will need the radio removal tools AND your 5 digit security code. If you don't have the code, ask the dealer. They will need your VIN to confirm. As you remove the radio, be very careful with the 2 orange fiber optic wires conected w/ a special connector to the bottom of the radio unit. Once you have reconnected the radio w/the navi drive, you will have to ask the dealer to re-program the computer to allow Navi voice. Good luck.

Nav System Install
I got all the parts for a DVD system I needed from http://www.mbdoctor.com/ for under a $1000 including MB factory parts and factory instruction sheets -- talk to Sammy. It was easy and we love the nav system -- it also helps with the marrage if you now what I mean?
