Changing Brake Light
Hi All
Lost One of the Bulbs for the Brake Light and thought of changing it myself(driver Side back brake light). took the flat head Screw driver and tried to turn the Screw but Ripped it off and noticed it is Plastic. How to remove the panel without ripping off the screws?
Anyone done this before ?
Any Help how to change the Bulb ? (this is in the general assembly where the Turn Signal bulbs etc are ...)
Thanks in Advance

mines a 99....but I think the assemblies are identical. Sometimes those nuts are pretty tight. They do have a standard slot for a screwdriver, but are hex-shaped as well. Rather than using a screwdriver, try a socket..better grip.
Once removing the two nuts pull the unit directly aft and it should pop out. The assembly has two studs that fit into rubber bushings. Sometimes they can be fairly tight so you might have to give a pretty good tug.
Once releasing the housing, simply unclip bulb holder, replace bulbs and reinstall. Might be a good idea to go ahead and replace all the bulbs; save you a headache later on.....also a good upgrade for back-up lights are the 50w halogens.....huge improvement........Good luck !!
