Xenon to bi-xenon
Has anyone with a 2000 or 2001 model ML with factory xenons upgraded to the 2003-2005 bi-xenons? If so, what is involved? Is it "plug & play"?
Thanks,
JD

Even if you are able to do this you will not have the auto leveling which is an important feature and required by law in a number of states. You may not pass state inspection if they catch it.

2001 ML 430
Auto-leveling is included with OEM Xenons
My '01 430 came with Merc Xenons and it DOES have the auto-leveling system.
Sometimes when stopped at night I can see the left one pulse up and fall back down a very small fraction every second or so. It is like the car level is in between the smallest setting it can acheive, so it is constantly adjusting, but it is not noticable when moving. Been that way since day one.
Load the back seat with three fat dudes and the lights DO NOT point to the sky like they did in the old YOTA 4-runner.
