need answer before ML purchase
Hey ML Fans, i'm thinking about joining your group but I need some questions answered prior to buying one. I'm thinking 2000 -newer or 2002 - newer.
1. What year did the projector lights came out, I definitely want that lighting.
2. Do all ML320 (2000-above) have 3rd row seating? I need 3rd row seating or it's gonna be a minivan, please save me!
3. Can older ML's be updated with the projector light possibly bi-xenon, it looks the same but i'm not sure if it would bolt on.
4. Overall, what's the best year to get.

2. Not all have 3rd row seating, do any is my question, There isnt much room in the back.
3. Yes, older ML's can be fairly easily updated, it fits like a glove, i am not sure about an ECU reprogram for the lights (thats if you want auto level I believe, thats if they have auto level )
4. Newer the better, 02's got a bigger engine ( hence rename from 320 to 350 ) some of the quirks were worked out, as the W163 has a lot, Especially the 320s. Look at the top of the M class section, there is a sticky with common ML problems.
I hope this helps, other members please add or correct me.

It isnt a reprogram on the bi xenons, 1 or two wires need to be moved around on the headlight harness to make them work but they will. Also third row seating were available as an option, you can still purchase the seat if you wanted to add it yourself
