Anyone else try this?

So after reading some posting of other ML55s blowing engine mounts, in one case on a regular basis, I decided to check with kleeman to see if they could offer me anything in the way of engine mounts.

They told me in theory the W211 E55K's engine mounts should work in the ML55. They are designed to withstand some 500+ lbs of torque from the kompressor engine. He also said that the ML55s engine mount was old and inferior for what the specs of the vehicle were, where any owner who drove spirited would run in to the problem...

So I think Im taking out my engine mounts and installing E55K ones... Am I gonna be the guinea pig?

55fanatic have you had to replace your mounts since you have owned your 55? The beefier mounts sounds like a good replacement. My modus operandi would be to secure the beefy mounts for the best price I could find and only spring for the replacement labor when I brake an original.

Cost isnt the worry, my family owns a garage and can order OEM MB parts for wholesale price... Labor isnt a cost either, its the Does it ift question as I dont want to return a part to the dealer because it doesnt fit, I dont get all my money back.

Hey 55fanatic.... I'm dragging up a really old thread.... however I'm on my 2nd set on engine mounts for my ml55. I've been searching for beefy set, and I stumbled across your thread. Did you do the swap with a set from a e55k? Did it work? I did a quick visual inspection of online photographs of OEM engine mounts for the ml55 and compared them to the E55. Visually they look very different.... I'd love to upgrade, but would like to get your opinion on how the swap went?
