Speakers for ML 320

Hey everyone. I have a 2001 ML 320 and the speakers aren't very good. I have the Cd changer at the rear. and the navigation screen at the front Is it possible to just change the speakers as I don't want to have to change everything in the car. Or will they not sound as good? Can anyone recommend speakers or an audio upgrade for me?
Thanks

I would think any good car stereo store can swap out speakers. Other than Bose, I am not aware of compatibility problems. I do not know if the car has Bose; if it does, there is usually an adapter necessary because Bose speakers area different resistance.

Talk to the installer and listen to different speakers to see what you like.
Regards,
Jerry

like mentioned above unless its a bose system(8ohm impedance) an aftermarket speaker will be difficult to install, generally they have 4ohm resistance.

In any case a good audio shop should be able to uninstall the speakers and install something else. I would highly recomend not installing aftermarkets to run off of a regular stock radio or more specifically amp... They will bombared with an inconsistant and dirty signal. Have an aftermarket amp installed and then continue to use the rest of your system with the newly integrated aftermarket amp... for better clarification, check out my 55's sound domain site

I called Bose about a busted speaker (a year or two ago) and they said that the ML's came with 2 ohm speakers, not 4 ohm Seems to make sense, they'd be able to get appx. twice the rated wattage out of the amp simply by switching the speakers to 2 ohm since the amp has some space constraints...

are you sure theyre not 8ohms and bridge to make the amp SEE 2ohms? If they truely are in fact 2ohm speakers you would be able to use ANY speaker there with a higher rating of 2 ohm...

What speaker was blown? Wasnt your sub was it? A sub could be a 2ohm speaker
