Where is the amp for MCS/Bose?

In the rear compartment near the changer, or up in the front passenger footwell area? Wonder if the amp has a chassis fuse? There is one in the fuse box for "sound system", but that appears good. Hmmm...

I believe the amp depending on the year it is up in the dash... hidden behind the driver's cup holder. When I rewired my 00 55 I ran my wires to that location and disconnected the amp

Yes, it is under the driver's seat, and ....

found the problem. The loop had been broken by my removal of an aftermarket DVD player, which had been piggybacked to the phone power under the pass seat (genius). According to my friend at the MB store, anything that disrupts the "circle" of information will cause something else to shut down. A quick plug/unplug brought her back. And yes, FYI, the amp is under the drivers' seat on an 02.

No the amp is not under the driver seat. That is the base module. the amp is up under the dash on the driver side way up there. It has been there from 98-05.
