Streaks or scratches? Is there any noise, like scraping when you roll it up/down?Scratches on the inside or outside of the window? Is the outside rubber seal still there, where the glass goes down inside the door?
Maybe put the window down, and use a firm toothbrush/whatever and clean the rubber lip edge, especially on the inner edge against the glasss, and get any sand/grit out if it's lodged in the seal area.

Where do you live? It is more common in eastern climates due to the use of grit on the roads that tends to get lodged in the outer rubber seals.
I used to bring cars from the east to resell them in the west and one of the indicators that the vehicle has spent time back east is scratched side glass.
I normally power wash the vehicles paying particular attention to the door scraper seals, you would be suprised at how much crap will wash out.
good luck.
Mike.
P.S. On the positive side Mercedes door glass is really quite cheap if you wish to replace it depending on how severe.
