Steering Pump Seal leak and ruptured hose
The nearest auto repair shop quoted me $1,300 for parts and labor to replace steering pump and a ruptured hose on my 2001 ML320. Is this a fair price? I asked the mechanic for a oem pump or a refurbished one to lower costs. Any idea how much should this repair be?
Thanks,

Sounds about $500 high to me. If you have any mechanical skills, this is an easy fix. You should be able to remove and replace the pump in a short Saturday morning.

I now have a dry PS pump... no leaks. try changing that Oring it is just a $6 part and the hose depending on which one is bad is about $20 or so + MB power steering fluid.
