Hi,
in my post on the leaks on my ml430 i mentioned the side steps... on my 39 dodge they are called running boards!
why aren't they still called running boards? so in the future (just to be consistant) i will refer to them as running boards!

2002 ML320
For the ML, the side steps and running boards are two different things. The steps are either black or silver and are basically tubes sticking out from the side of the car. The running boards are closer to the body and are a more sophisticated look, as opposed to the rugged look of the side steps.
I have posted two pictures below of a relative's ML with the running boards.
