Install Crome shift Surround??
I have 2000 ml430. I just bought the chrome gear shift surround. Does anyone know how to take out my black factory surround and install this new one.
I don't want to damage anything.

From another Benz Forum: "I asked the same question...Just lift it straight up with your finger. its about 2 seconds to do it and about maybe 5 seconds to put it back in, coz you have to align the tab." Personally that didn't work for me so put down a thin cloth on the wood up next to the surround to protect the wood and then I used a plastic putty knife to "gently" pry up on it at the rear and both sides. Came off pretty easy and went back on easy too.
