one touch windows - how to
2005 ML 500
I want to setup all the windows for one touch up and down (front doors, rear door, rear cabin windows, and sunroof.
Is this something I need to go to the dealer for or can I do it myself. I read somewhere that you simply open all the windows then hold down for 10-15 secs then hold up for 10-15 secs on each window separate. This didnt seem to do the trick for me.
Anyone?

This must be available only on newer models. I don't believe my 2000 has this option. It has the one touch down on the 2 front windows, but thats it. Maybe I am missing something all these years?

The front windows have the one touch... I want to also make both sets of the rear windows as well as my sunroof the same way... Yes I know its not a big deal, but being used to it with my other cars holding the sunroof button especially is really a pain...
Perhaps I didnt hold the buttons long enough or there is a special sequence? Like I said, the direction I have say open all windows with key in ignition and then hold down for 15 secs then up for 15 secs on every window...
I do not have my manual as I just got the car and the dealership is looking for it (dealer car).

The roof has the one touch. Just bump the switch back, and it will open 3/4 of the way. When thats done, bump back one more time, and it will open all the way. Doesnt work for closing it though.

This is interesting....I might have to read my manual again....Am I getting this('03-ML) function mixed up w/ the Lexus RX--the windows will automatically roll up--once you locked the doors--leaving the car?

I have a 2005 ML 500, and this is how it normally works..
You press the open/close window swictch an you hold the button until you feel some resistance. This is the manual way of opening or closing the window.
To make the window open or close automatically, you press the button past the point of resistance (or press it all the way) and then you release the button immediately, and the window will automatically open or close automatically..
If you hold the swicth while it is closing, it will override the obstruction sensor and the automatic reversal feature...
If you change the vehicle battery or if the power windows are not working correctly, you need to synchronize the window system by starting the engine and holding the window switch until the window is closed and then holding it for around 3 seconds.

yeah, it has one touch open sunroof. To a certain point where it wont make a buffeting noise. Then if u touch it again it opens all the way, it will also one touch close back to the first 75% open position. 02+ ML has express up and down on all 4 windows.
