Can someone help me with changing the trip computer mode so that it will display the mpg instead of km/l. I looked all over the owner's manual to try to change it but it does not work. I went though the menu and it did not give me the option to change the country as some previous post has said. All it does is cycle through the list of things such as date, compass, range, and l/100 km. It does not shut down the trip computer at all if you continue to push the mode button.

The car is a 2001 ML430.

You might have a defective unit. I had a defective unit in my ML that would only do KM. My SA thought I was crazy until he looked at it and I guess looked up the problem on the computer and said the only fix was to replace it. Seeing that you are out of warranty maybe if you call and ask your SA depending on how well you know each other he might be able to replace it for you, I am not sure what the cost is of the new unit but if he cant replace it for free I recommend buying the unit and a DIY install.

Thanks for the reply. I'll see if I can get them to warranty it for me. I still have the starmark warranty on the car.
