I got a check engine light today in my 98 ml320 and pulled the code it said something about the egr valve... i tried a search and some were suggesting cleaning the egr tube.. where can I find the tube and what else should I look for in fixing and clearing the code? I tried resetting the code but the light pops back on after 20 minutes of driving. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

i just got the same code on my 99 ml430. I was just looking for info on how to replace the egr valve and any related issues.

Thanks for the link. Is there anything special about removing the old valve and installing a new one? Should just be a simple remove and replace, right? Any special tools required? Looks like it might be in a tight spot to reach.

Is the tube they talk about cleaning the small black rubber tube?
