2002 ML320 Designo from Estonia

Whats up everybody!!!

......been reading this forum for a while inorder to gather info on the ML. I live in Estonia, but study/work in Switzerland. As i spend most of my time in Switzerland I have a car here (R32), but since I gotta go back home every few months I decided to take over my stepmoms lease on this 2002 ML. It is a fully loaded 320 with a two tone beige Designo interior and has done less than 40 000 km. Used mostly for shopping and other female stuff

I have a few questions to the more experienced ML owners.
1) Whats the best way to connect an I-pod to the command system (wanna keep the CD changer)?
2)I have found lowering springs, but only for the rear....what type of suspension does the ML have in the front and how will it balance if I only lower the rear? Is it ok to use 40k old shocks and new springs?
3)Does anybody here have a custom exhaust, any noticable gains in power...cant use the AMG or Brabus since I have that wheel holding thingy in the back and it would look out of place without a matching pumper.

Hey dude,

I'm also from Switzerland ... do a little homework by readfing wolfgangs pages , then get back with questions!

http://www.whnet.com/4x4/

You have 2 options to connect a MP3 player (not just ipod) ....

1. The other models have a aux connection (standard on the comand) in the glovebox... The ML doesn't come with this standard but is very easy to retrofit. Just buy the E-Class aux cable , and connect it up the comand .... then every time you select aux on the command your mp3 player connected to the comand is playing. The down side of this solution is that you will need to control & view the ipod (mp3 player) directly.

2. There are alternatives that replace the CD-Changer on the D2B ring. Kits specifically for the ipod, or generic mp3 player kits....

http://www.whnet.com/4x4/radios.html (scroll to the ipod section)

PS: I have a DIY for the aux retrofit!

to:pleubner......where in switzerland are you located, I live in Lugano. Thanks for the links they sure are informative.
So let me get this straight:
1) The aux cable that works should be from the previous E-class (w210) right?
2) The suspension on the ML can be adjusted in the front, but needs lowering springs in the back?

Thnx

1. Yes ('ll dig out the retrofit infor as well as the partno)
2. You got it right ..... (non oem come without the springs and you need to use a tool to fit them)

PS: Live in Basel , spend a lot of time in zurich (near the airport) , work sometimes from Freiburg (Germany)

This option uses the Fiber optik D2B bus , but also allows you to keep your CD-Changer ... (unfortunately in German)

Hello again everybody,

Has anybody here faced a foggy headlamp issue? I know what is wrong, but I dont have any solutions. I took it to the dealer and they told me to get a new headlamp, but I would like to pursue other options before I cough up s**t load of money for a new one.

Anybody got ideas??

Thanks in advance
