Brake Job

I changed rotors and brake pads on my 99 ML430 yesterday. I used the anti squeel compound from the dealer and applied it on the pad. I drove it around 100 miles now..so far no noise. Can any one tell me if the noise problem shows up right away or after some time. I noticed that the compound got all melted when the brake heated up. Any inputs will be appreciated.
Thanks,
San

Will take a while. I got a hint of a squeak after a few thousand miles on new pads, but only very faint sometimes - nowhere near as bad as it was on the old ones. Not really got a great dealer worse 10,000 miles later. I guess it depends how well you placed the paste!!

Are you sure you put the anti-squeal stuff on the back of the pad, and not the side that contacts the rotor?

Yeah .. I put it on the back where the piston meets the pad and on the back of outside pad. drove 200 miles last week end there is no squeal yet. i did seat the pads..
