We returned from Church this afternoon and when we parked the car in the driveway and turned it off the key will not release from the ignition!
This had happened once before but I started the car and turned it off and it released the key. That time I thought I pressed one of the buttons on key.
Any Ideas? Anyone.

Just a thought, if its nothing serious. I did something silly once, I Left my car in Drive And Forgot to Put it in Park. Did you check to see if its in park? You can try holding down your brake down hard and turning your wheel left if that helps (This helps unlock it alot of times, some security thing in the ML).

Had that problem with my 02 ML500. Dealer took care of it, believe I remember they replaced the cable that goes into the shifter and also some electronic module. Other cause could also be the ignition lock itself. Visit your dealer.

I switched my friend's Ml430 key with mine...(he was driving that day...I just had my keys with me)
He sat there for about 10 mins saying..."don't worry this has happened before...just gotta nudge the steering wheel...or maybe press this...or that". It was great fun watching him.
Anyways I hope that story cheered you up and wish you the best of luck getting your key unstuck.

This happened to me a couple of times, with mine, all I had to do was start the car again, move the steering wheel a little, turn it off and try to pull the keys again. It's like the key got stuck with the steering wheel in the lock position/weird angle...it's hard to explain but try it. Good luck, hopefully it's nothing major.
