What's a "Nokia ML" .... Phone with wheels?.....

MMMM... I have a UHI guide for ML installations also ... want me to do a "nappy" post?

Perhaps if I charge for it instead of making it free , it won't fall under the category "hero"?....

My motto is that if I do a mod for myself , I then share my experiences with others to help them. If this is clashes with your concept of making all ML owners pay you for doing installations for them, then I think your on the wrong forum.

So let me take this oppotunity to list some of my mods that might be of interest to others :-

Done
----------
1. BiXENON Headlights
2. UHI Phone retrofit & hookup to Comand
3. OEM Analog TV-Tuner
4. Aux glovebox connector for comand
5. Special Edition Taillights
6. Leather Armrest & shifter surround
7. Inspiration/Final Edition Leather Memory Seats & Door Trim
8. Chrome Trunk Handle
9. OEM Chrome door handles
10. Door Lock Actuator Replacement
11. OEM VES (Video EntertainmeSnt System) Retrofit
12. Sony Playstation (hooked up to the Tv-Tuner AUX1)
13. White Instrument Cluster Guages & Chrome Rings
14. DIY replacment of the 722.66x Automatic Transmission (reused successfully twice already)
15. Comand 2.0 Installation
16. LED Door Rearview Mirrors

Soon to be done
---------------
1. ML55 Front/Rear Bumpers (Also Facelift Bumpers)
2. Some kind of new Bullbar to match the new bumpers (still need to clarify if Brabus or the standard Final Edition one will fit the Styling front bumper)
3. ML55 Brake Calipers
4. ML55 Hood (Bonnet)

Longer Term Projects
--------------------
OEM Facelift Console & A/C Controls
OEM Parktronic

Miro,

Firstly, I wish to convey to you my absolute disgust in your comments, and your need to drag me into your Bull Sh-t.

The repeat of a previous post of mine on this thread was introduced by another gentleman, which I have no objection to.

As a matter of fact, I am glad that did.

Secondly, the gentlemen that I mentioned in my thank you post never asked for public recognition or “medals” as you so eloquently note, for the services that they rendered to me.

I believe that it is just common courtesy to thank those that have provided assistance, especially when you consider the effort that they expend in assisting others on the various MB web sites.

But for reasons that will remain a greater mystery than the Sphinx, you were unable to stop at this point.
You felt the need to add further sarcasm by stating that I should create a “modify the ML to retrofit navigation” site.

Believe me, I generally try to keep away from threads / posts whose theme portrays an ugly face.

Not this time, especially when you want to drag innocent bystanders in, for your own personal gratification

I will however state for the record, that when I was looking into my command upgrade, I spoke with you via telephone on several occasions, and was left with no doubt that you are technically competent.

But now for the million-dollar question: Why did I elect not to use your services?

I strongly suggest that you think long and hard about this.

Have a nice day.
George.

Because a man in Lithuania who hardly speaks English was cheaper on the Nav unit and the internet you already had.

Does that mean I should be concerned ? You do live 1000 miles away you know.

You may be competent to install everything on your own and consider someone who charges for these services a money pincher. Not everyone is capable of doing these installs themselves. As for my own list, here ya go.

203 c320
Distronic
Parktronic front and Rear
Autofolding Convex Mirrors
Keyless Go
Stationary Heating with Telestart
AMG body
AMG exhaust
AMG brakes
Vented/Heated/Orthopedic seats
Rear Heated Seats

2005 CLK instrument Cluster
Heated Steering wheel
Tire PRessure Monitor
H&R lowered
Interior Motion Sensor
Speed limiter
Auxillary locking
BIX w/washers
and much more

All done without any money pinchers but if I did not know how to do these, I would not mind paying someone to do it for me and consider them money pinchers.

MIROJ,

Non of it applies .... this is a W163 forum!

PS: Nobody is calling "steve" a money pincher!. Sunman ... Sounds logical & reasonable what you are saying ....

..... just for the record .. I will paste my earlier post here again!!!!!!
PS: Sorry about the suggestion "steve" is a money pincher ..... I didn't mean steve , but rather said it generally speaking .... After reading the previous post I realize the misunderstanding .... my answer was not in response to your post! (MIROJ ?). ... Who am I to comment on steve?, I don't even know what he charges for a easy DIY retrofit?.... Hopefully not more that 1000$US per hour?.....

"I think you just shot the football into the wrong goal".

Richard asked kindly to use information & pictures from my writeup to extend/compliment his info ..... I told him he could use it as he sees fit. He has included various items in his writeup. (remember ... helping others!!!). You are advertsing my information .... you are listing extracts from my writeup on your "HERO" website !!!!

You need some professional emotional assistance. You are a very strange person indeed. Did you life coach ClayJ or something ?

Do you even have any idea what you are talking about ?

Now I rest my case!

.... on second thoughts, I'll refrain from making a quote from "Richard"! without his prior consent!.

Funny that you never mention where you are from? ... You just resort to slander & abuse, you insult all americans, if someone doesn't take your business you get real nasty, and as soon as too much detail get's published you get aggressive!, not to mention that the last time you got a "red" card for your behaviour .... maybe this is on the way to another one?.... (I'll let those links above speak for themselves).

Now I really think some kind of "therapy" would do you good!.

Like I said before .... You don't even own a W163 ML! ....either get off this forum or provide constructive contributions!.

I will be seeing Richard in about 4 days. He is beyond being questioned by your heroic self. Only a fool would speak on his behalf.

You dont know the first thing about Richard other than the fact you bleed his website for your own glory.

Guys this is soccer season.., we should all play in this forum in good spirits..!

I think Peter has been really really helpful and getting the right info and encouraging / inspriring menbers for a DIY.. And i strongly believe that this is the very purpose of the forum.. Atleast I am really inspired to complete my retro.. Just need to buy the wirings..

Again, steve is no money pincher.., I had approached him. It is just that you need that extra $$$.., still better than approaching the MB dealers & getting ripped off.

Semi's & Finals are now on, and let us all enjoy the game..

Well done Peter.

Now this is what these forums are all about.
You uncovered a source for the “difficult to find” C connector, and you have shared it with all.
This enables those individuals, who possess the technical ability and requisite knowledge to make their own harness adapters, and save some money.

Thanks for sharing this info.

Cheers,
George.

Update on the UHI Phone retrofit.

I used this Harness set .... The great thing about it is that all cable lengths are perfect for the microphone (leading up to the dome lamp or windshield via the A pillar) , or to the other components such as Controller , ... and Base plate.

Home made Harness (Good for MY98,99,00 M-Class Vehicles)

If you are interested in the full info I posted my UHI Retrofit, as well addtional links on "P3" in the HOW-TO Sticky...

(take out the spaces)

Just scroll down to the "UHI Phone retrofit" section, and look at the pdf's attached (they are not displayed).

For those with MY01+ Vehicles , there is a link to retrofit instructions.
