Hi, I have an 03 ML350 Inspiration - great so far. Would like to get another key fob - any recommendations? Do I need to go to a dealership to have them set it?

Also, best was to set homelink - garage door openers to a roaming transmitter. Tried everything by the book, but still doesn't work. Thanks again!

 

I think you have to order then extra set via your dealership, they're made according to VIN no. and laser cut...and depending on dealership...it'd cost you somewhere between $100-$200.

 

Yep ... that blade gets cut to fit for a particular key number.

Just got my extra remote +blade done. The VIN is used to order it. When it arrives you have to show id (passport) to purchase it. Then it gets "angelernt" (the car lerns the existence of the key). As soon as I put my key in the SDS (Star Diag. System) computer recogized it as key No.4 , then I went (at the dealer I was allowed to use the SDS) into the right menu option to get the vehicle to accept the key.
