I have a 2002 ML 320 .

The shift selector sticks in park,this just started tonight.

The manual has a temporary fix (insert a pencil size object into the hinged flap at the base of the shift selector to the left of D.

The HI OIL light comes on and stays on for no obvious reason.

The same thing happened to me--TWICE! I had to stick a screwdriver in there and it worked! I still carry a screwdriver til this day, just in case the damn thing messes up again. The had to replace the gear shift thing(don't fault me cuz I'm a girl!) But it had to be replaced. It was the gear something! My truck was still under warranty at that time. Keep a regular sized flat screwdriver handy!
