$1411 for new brake pads&rotors for an '03 ML500?!!!

I feel you. Our ML500 has 21600 miles on it exactly (been sitting in the garage), I won't let the wife drive it because the brakes are making so much noise. Kick in the ***** is, I had all four pads and rotors replaced at 8600 miles and now BENZ is telling me it needs to be done again. AGAIN! Are they out of their F'ing minds! I guess you're only supposed to get 13K miles to a set of brakes?????
I am so glad this is not a daily driver. Thank god this car is dissapearing in Jan.

do it yourself
slap the pads on yourself in 30 minutes.
forget the rotors.\\
your wife may ride the brake a little...
use ebay for pad purchases and you should find some under $100.

I just got quoted $2500 parts and labor for pads and rotors for my E55 wagon at an MB dealer in the valley yesterday.
I'm taking the car on a roadtrip at year's end, then going to lightly use it while reconditioning an older W108, after which the E55 will go to trade on a bimmer X3 for the wife. the bimmer's brakes, etc. may be expensive down the line, but at least for the first 4 years BMW will pay for all of it...
these merc prices are ridiculous, and the service "advisers" are douchebags that are always trying to upsell. that's really a drag on the "ownership experience" that MB ought to address, but won't.

Ah... the price we pay for owning a car "that is engineered like every other car in the world." I like their old slogan much better...
Almost same situation here. Dropped off wife's 2002 ML320 with 50,982 showing. Had brakes done about 25K ago...
Visit today...
Front and Rear pads... $290 per axle
Oil pan leak.... $700 but 982 miles out of warranty...
Front Windshield wipers... $65
Paying $100 hr for Mecedes to service a declining product... Priceless
I think I will get my own pads
Fix the pan gasket
Go to auto store for wipers
and take my wife on a small weekend get away with my savings... hehehe
