Can anyone tell me where I can get a schematic or repair diagram for my skyview. Would only opern 6 inches and had a snapping noise when it closed itself and will not retract at all. Any Advice?

probably the gear has slipped off the track. If I remember correctly, the motor/gear for the skyview should be in the rear hatch somewhere, near the dome lighting. You'll have to take off the headliner to access it.

Big repair job, most likely needs lots of parts. Best let a dealer do it as its quite complex. There are those Skyviews that have broken and those that will break. Its a maint nightmare and thats why Skyview ML's sell for lots less than those that do not have it. And, it will break again!!

My 00 ML320 too has the skyview working flawlessly...
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to lubricate the rails? What stuff to use etc.? Mine has off late started making some sounds while sliding, but nothing serious...

The noise is a precursor to failure. While lube may help it it will not totally prevent a failure. Should be lubed with a little white lithium grease. However my suggestion is keep it closed and if you do use it be prepared for a major repair.
