2002 Gear Shift Knob Part #...
Wondering if anyone could give me the Mercedes-Benz part number and suggested retail price for the Java leather gearshift knob with the M-B logo for the 2002 M-Class. I went to my local dealer and he could not find a part number or price… any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

2002 ML shift knob
I've got a java leather factory shift knob that I replaced with a burlwood one, so the leather factory one is available. If the 2002 uses the same knob (which I think it does), it's yours for $20 + $5 S/H if you want it. Just e-mail me at eprenzlow@icomplete.com and I'll send you my address.
The one I have is java (tan) leather with the black plastic insert on the top with the MB star in the insert.

Mine's a 2001 ML320 (more)
I'm assuming that the shaft diameter hasn't changed between model years. I can mike the diameter if you want and you can compare, but MB doesn't usually change specs on standard items like this.
Replacement was easy, rotate the locking ring on the bottom of the knob to loosen it, then give it a smart upward pull straight off the shaft. Mine was a 15 second changeout. The new knob should be pushed down firmly on the shaft until it stops, then rotate the locking ring into place. (The locking ring is a collet type lock - just enough to put some tension on the shaft).

eprenzlow / 2002 ML shift knob...
Actually, I was hoping it would fit my E320... going to check with the local M-B dealer and see if he can tell me if it fits. Doesn't seem reasonable to me that he can't figure out the '02 part numbers...
