Does the new ML series incorporate the parktronic "buttons" in the bumper molding or is it still the ugly black ones with wires that come out of the two rectangular cutouts in the bumper?

Black wires? You must be referring to an aftermarket system that someone put in. Before model year 2002, Parktronic was not available as a factory option for the M-class.
