hey everyone
just wondering when the dealer send a recall on the car how long does it last for the recall. do they close the recall after couple month or a year? please let me know,

They do not always send a letter. Most of the so called recalls are called TSB's, technical service bulletins. Some of these recalls are done when you vist the dealer for service. If you never go there for service, you might never find out about the recall. Most of the recalls are good for up to ten years, like the power steering hose recall and the oil sludge warranty. The catalytic coverter problem is covered up to 80,000 miles. If you are unsure about TSB's and your car/truck you might want to call and inquire about it. Although that is no guarantee the the service advisor will be knowledgable about the recall. Not of all of these Mercedes dealers/service advisors are created equal. My 2 cents.

Don't forget that if there is any physical damage to the outside of the catalysts from someone running over something, then the catalyst is no longer covered.
