Just dump all the drive tran oil
drain all the oil from under the car over the weekend. It was a pretty easy job. Drained. Front diff, Transmission, transfer case and rear diff
Used
royal purple Max Gear oil for the diff.
royal purple Max ATF for the transfer case.
MB ATF 3353 for the trans.
Interestingly. only 3 qt of ATF drained out of the tranny pan. I didn't try to turn the crankshaft to look for the torque converter drain plug because a bunch of post said only early ML had the drain plug. According to Wolfgang's page the tranny take on 7.9qts. so I guess I will be changing out the ATF another couple of times. Old ATF came out dark brown.. Nasty!. although it was not murky it was still dark brown.. I thought original ATF was yellowish.
The new ATF 3353 is pink and clear. So hopefully in a couple more change the ATF will be all pink. since only 3 quart came out I plan to change the ATF filter at 3rd change.
BTW the ATF filler cap Lock pin can be reused. you will have to break off the top and then drive the rest of the pin downward to unlock the cap. but you can reuse the pin to lock the cap back in by inserting the used pin from the top.

Like to report that the 3 qt oil change seem to have soften the occassional hard shift i experienced. I dont recall having hard shift now.
I will be doing the 2nd round of ATF change in about 200 miles. Still debating on change filter kit at 2nd round or 3rd round.
