Stiff pedal is fixed!!

The stiff gas pedal is fixed....I brought my ML in to the dealership and told them about stretching the spring and replacing the cable. At first the service guy didn't think I needed it, until I finally told him I couldn't drive the truck anymore with that gas pedal and something has to change. When I went back to pick it up he said they stretched the spring for me. It works like a charm. Pedal is very smooth now. Normal foot pressure works perfect now. I thought they wouldn't stretch the spring , but they keep surprising me. And all at no charge...they said it was under my starmark warranty. If anyone else out there hates their stiff gas pedal...do this immediately. Its such a difference.

Would you please explain "stretch" the spring. At design, the spring has a certain "spring constant". If the old spring was permanently deformed (i.e. streched to achieve a new spring constant) they didn't really fix anything. the springs is either replaced or the cable taken care of.

Solution for stiff gas pedal

Hi Lists

Sorry for very small photo.

The Japanese ML owners have solved stiff gas pedal by stretching a half of spring. Please try it.

DANG!

(I wasn't done you stupid forum!)

Anywho, my gas pedal sticks with a passion. I've had so many different throttle cables in mine. Actually, I'm in a huge lawsuit with Mercedes because of it and I'm just about to GET PAID!!!! I might as well leave it be for a few more months. Besides, they just put in a new cable last week.
