ML Gas Leak

ML Gas Leak
It's a 1999 ML 430, has 104k miles on it. Gasoline is leaking underneath, from the gas tank area. Can't find the exact leak spot, and it has only happened a few times. It is suspected to be leaking only after filling up the gas tank, and usually after it leaks once it will stop leaking. No significant loss of gas either. Got any ideas? I guess I will have to make a visit to the dealership (gasp).

Hmm...that's a great hypothesis. I have trouble all the time trying to put the pump nozzle into the poorly designed hole. I always have to fidgit to get it to sit properly, but usually I have no trouble getting it to automatically click and stop the pumping once it reaches full. I am going to fill it up 3/4 tank for a while and see if it still leaks before wasting money at the dealership.
Also to ponder, even if I had filled it up past full, I had driven over 30 miles by the time I parked the ML and it began dripping gas. So it was already 1/6 or 1/8 empty since it's such a gas guzzler.
